News Update March 16, 2020
March 16, 2020
The board and staff of the Freight House Farmers Market have held many discussions over the last several days in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and as a result, have decided it is in the best interest of all involved that we cancel our indoor winter market thru March. We will reevaluate the situation at the beginning of April and keep you apprised of our next steps. It was not a hard decision to make, because ultimately the health and safety of you, our customers, vendors, and staff is of the utmost importance.
We are so grateful for the unwavering enthusiasm this time of year brings as we all anticipate spring and the new market season. Hold on to that enthusiasm. That is the inspiration behind our organization that drives us to plan, innovate, refresh and reimagine every year to bring you this amazing market.
We do urge you, in the spirit of community and goodness, to follow the recommendations of the CDC. Please watch out for those most vulnerable. Check-in and offer to grab groceries (or share a roll of toilet paper) with your elderly neighbors, and those whose health makes it dangerous to go out. Give a hand or offer extra craft supplies to parents with kids stuck at home for the next few weeks. Make dinner for a health care worker who will no doubt be tired and overworked. Call, text, facetime, with friends and family. Together we light the way through the darkness and uncertainty.
We look forward to coming together soon to celebrate and enjoy again all that is amazing about our community.
